I have been tracking my Willard family from Ohio and east across PA. The head of the family was Ludwig (Louis or Lewis) Willard wife unknown. His children include Susannah Mary b1776, Henry b 1777, Mary b1780, Maria b1784, Jacob b1786, Elizabeth Abt 1788, Catherine Abt 1789, Rachel b1794 and Samuel b 1799. My Willard family came from Switzerland where Louis, Susannah, Henry, Mary, Maria and Jacob were born. Immigration has been found to be about 1790 probably into Philadelphia. I have been looking for an immigration record so that the germeide can be located in Switzerland. There is a Jean Jacques Villard and wife Susanne Marie with children almost identical to the above Willard family mentioned. Arrival in Philadelphia was 7 Jul 1788 aboard the Le Brie. Can anyone help me with the Ludwig Willard family and maybe a possible link to Jean Jacques Villard?

I have been searching many years for any info on my grandfather with no luck. I have been told that he died in Bristol, in either 1957 0r 1958. My sister has been to Bristol searching for if on him to no avail. I was told he was living in a rooming house in Bristol at the time of his death. I have no idea who would have taken care of his funeral. His wife and children were all in NJ at that time. Would you have any suggestions how I might obtain an obit or death record for him. I tried once for a death record but was told I would need a better date of death as they would only research three months for anyone. My grandfathers name was Oakford Frazier Cline and to the best of my knowledge he was born in NJ. I live in KY so it is extremely hard to find anything. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My Great Grandfather was born in Germany and when he was abt 17 or 18, abt 1869, he stowed away on a ship (to avoid conscription into the war) and ended up in Philadelphia.

Are there any records for names or information about stowaways on ships in the Philadelphia port during the 1869 period???

Thanks,

I obtained my grandfather's death certificate from Dec 1917. The certificate said he was buried in North Mt or Mc Moriah Cemetery. I called Mt. Moriah and they said he was not there, and they weren't the same as North Mt. Moriah. They didn't, however, know where North Mt. Moriah is. Does anyone know? Possibly if someone has a Philadelphia phone book listing from that era that cemetery and address might be listed? My grandfather's name was Harold Bundick Shill and he died on 6 Dec 1917 and was buried on 8 Dec. I would appreciate anybody's help as I plan to be in that area around Christmas and was really hoping to visit my grandfather's grave - now I don't know where it is. Thank you

Information from Ellis Island:
Arrived on February 3, 1911, Ship Saint Paul
Port Southampton

Winnifred Francis age 40(Ellis Island had wrong age and listed as 30) born Worcester single (her husband John Francis was dead by that time) Winnifred Josephine Francis her daughter age 16 (born 1895) born in Jersey, Channel Islands

Lucy Maud Francis daughter age 12 (born 1899) born in London Bethnal Green)

There information agrees with 1901 census for Britain and Wales. At that time they lived in Wales. Where John Francis was a hotel porter.

They moved to Philadelphia and lived with a Mrs. Books or Booker who is shown as friend of family. Mrs. Winnifred Francis's closest relative listed in Britain was Mrs. Wright in London , England.

The 1920 census shows a Mrs. Louise M. Booker and her husband Marrion (Maurice shown on Ellis Island) in Philadelphia 1920 census. Also my friend was only able to find Lucy Maud Francis living in Philadelphia in 1920 and she was boarding at a Mrs. Walker's place and worked as a telephone operator.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I was thrilled to find these people in Ellis Island I have been checking Wales and Channel islands for them for the last few years. Thanks again for any advice. Would like to get in touch with anyone researching this family. I have information going back to 1700 on John Francis's family in Dorset .

Could you tell me where to look for an obit Index of the city.

I am looking for a husband and wife who both died between 1920 and 1930 (According to the census stuff), leaving two young children.

Their names are Robert Belshaw and Gertrude Belshaw. They were living beside his sister and husband (Thomas Sigg) in 1920, and then his sister is there showing the two children as adopted.

I am looking for obits first, and they are cheaper than trying to get death records.

I guess the other option would be a death record index that would give me solid dates, and then I could go look for an obit.

I appreciate your help.

My grandmother, Helen Marie Housmann, was born in Port Richmond, PA, on May 21, 1881, and baptized at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church on May 29, 1881. Her mother's maiden name was Helen Sweeney and her father's name was Henrick (Harry) Housmann. The name must have been changed because my grandmother's name on her marriage certificate is Johnson. My grandmother had three siblings: Henry (Harry) Johnson (or maybe Housmann); Caroline; and John. My grandmother was orphaned at around age 6, 7, 8 which would have been 1887-89. I am trying to find information on the orphanage that my grandfather Milton Fulmer Treibley and his brother and sisters were sent to in the early 1900. Milton was born in 1904 in Milton Pa. Northumberland County . He was baptised in Shamokin Pa. in 1910. He lived with the Rhoades family in Irish Valley Pa. He did not take there name. His brother Frank ,who is younger, was adopted by the Britt family and lived in Tioga county Pa. Dolly was not adopted and eventualy went to live with an Aunt Ruby Love in Pen Yan New York. The last child Mary was not adopted and she ended up in New Berlin Pa. She died in the late 40's .

It is believed they lived in Shamokin Pa. till there mother Elizabeth (Lloyd) left the family , and their father Charles E. H. Treibley put them in the orphanage. I have no dates for the other children , no one in my family can remember anything , we were always told we don't want to know .Now everyone os dead who could tell us anything and I don't know how to get the information. I tried the court house and got nowhere . Can any one help me.

Any idea where I might find information on the Vincum Football Club of Philadelphia. There was once a family picture of this club, taken in 1912, which included my Grandfather, Alexander Hann, who died in the flu epidemic in 1918. An archived picture would be a real treasure. Any suggestions?

I have reason to believe that Col. John Evans (Lt. Gov. 1704 - 1709) was a relative of my 6g grandfather, William Evans (d. abt. 1757). My brother has the original sheepskin deed for 1000a originally obtained by John from William Penn (patented Nov. 10, 1717). The land passed from John Evans to John Moore, his father-in-law, and thence to William Evans in about 1730/31. I would like any information either confirming or contradicting the family relationship between John & William Evans. If a family connection can be established, I would like any available additional information on their ancestors and on John's descendants.

I would be very grateful for any help along these lines.

Do you have any information regarding Frank D. Botiller who died in the early 1950's? His family home was located at 9481 Sunset Boulevard, Beverly Hills, CA. He may have been buried in a family plot at the Holy Cross Cemetary on Slauson Avenue, but am not sure. He also had a cousin named Tom Botiller that lived in Los Angeles.

Frank had a sister named Cecilia Botiller (never married) and a sister named Ida who married a man named Agnus Lindley. It would be helpful if you also had the name of his father and mother.

I would appreciate any information you can give me.

Jacob Lonerbaugh's parents came from Germany, and died in Philadelphia, where he was born. Jacob became a butcher, and settled in Indiana Township, Allegheny County. According to notes in the family bible, his gravestone and from his Civil War Records he was born 05 December 1824 (in Philadelphia).

I am trying to document who his parents were. Since they were German, I'm wondering if there might be some documentation in the Germantown records.

My relative attended the Methodist-Episcopal Church while he was alive.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance with this family research.
